Someone is amazing

We are so excited to share this news: it seems that someone has stepped forward to anonymously donate a living kidney on Adam’s behalf. Can you believe it? We hardly can.

The donor, whom we know very little about, has agreed to participate in the paired donation program. This means that they will donate their organ now to someone who is a good match for their kidney.

In the meantime, Adam will undergo a nephrectomy (removal of his current kidneys) and be put on the “active” list for paired donation. At this point Adam will have a voucher, or as he likes to say “golden ticket” to get a new kidney. Once he is fully recovered form the first surgery he will be eligible to get the transplant when a kidney that is a good match for him becomes available.

We still have many rivers to cross, but we are closer than ever to a life-changing transplant. Wowza. Here we go!

  1. Since you first shared the news about your illness I have been at a loss for words. My first response was: “oh shit” but I didn’t think I could write that and everything else felt like a platitude.

This news is so hopefully…thank you for sharing it. Raising a glass to you – but especially to the generous one who has made it possible for you to get that “golden ticket”. May their life be filled with joy and abundance. Here’s looking at you Adam and the road ahead! ❤️
